SAFR SCAN supports Pass through mode, enabeld under Access Control settings page.  In this mode, SCAN will send card credentials through to the panel even if the cardholder is not added to SAFR.  This only works for single factor card or QR Code authentication modes.

Pass thru mode will do the following:

• Card only - send the card as-is to the panel (does not try to match badge against local scan database)
• Face only – read the credentials from the matched face person record, convert to binary using card format and transmit to panel
• Face AND Card – match person record based on face.  Ensure card presented matches person record.  Then transmit credentials to panel

If you do not have pass thru mode on, credentials must be added to a person record, even with card only.
