When SAFR encounters an image during PACS Sync that is below the recommended quality thresholds, it normally imports the image and creates a warning in covi\logs\ext-sync.log with information on what quality thresholds were not met. Administrators should monitor this log for these entries and correct them.
Another option is to configure SAFR to set the "unusable" attribute on the image and use the People Window to filter and update any images with poor quality. This article explains how to configure SAFR to set the "unusable" attribute.
About "unusable" attribute
When SAFR sets the unusable attribute on a person record, that results in SAFR ignoring (not matching) that face. The record is essentially ignored until the face image is updated. This avoids false matches that may result in attempting to match a face with a very poor quality face image.
SAFR PACS Sync is one-directional. Images are updated when changed in the PACS, but images updated in SAFR are not updated in the PACS. To update a face with the unusable attribute, the image should be updated in your access control system.
Face Quality Thresholds for Import
When importing face images from PACS, SAFR uses thresholds defined in the Import mode. Import mode uses the following default settings:
- Face size: 220 pixels
- Sharpness: 0.4 (i.e. 40%)
- Contrast: 0.4 (i.e. 40%)
- Center Pose Quality: 0.59 (~70° from camera line of sight)
To change these thresholds, refer to the document "Defining Default Settings" under https://safr-support.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles
