SAFR Server Sync Throttling

SAFR Server will make updates to SAFR SCAN or SAFR Camera clients when certain changes are made to either persons or configuration affecting persons (i.e. updates to access clearances or zones).  Sync can also be initiated by Sync Audit (set in Processor System Settings) or the resulting sync that is initiated when Audit determines a full sync is required to correct discrepancies.

Below provides guidance on how to control the load from sync between SAFR SCAN/Camera and SAFR Server. Setting throttling parameters as documented below will protect SAFR Server against sync or audit driving up CPU usage.

Note: SAFR Platform 3.31 includes performance optimizations to SAFR Server to SAFR Client synchronization.  It is recommended to upgrade to version 3.31 for large scale systems.

Below settings can be found in operations.properties located in C:\Program Files\RealNetworks\SAFR\covi\app\config\covi

## identity-sync.max-concurrent-starts=5

## identity-sync.max-unthrottled-concurrency=20

## identity-sync.concurrency-back-off-step-delay=1000

## identity-sync.concurrency-back-off-max-delay=10000

## identity-sync.concurrency-check-with-delay=true

In C:\Program Files\RealNetworks\SAFR\covi\app\config\covi\persistent-overrides.properties

identity-sync.max-concurrent-starts: 5

identity-sync.max-unthrottled-concurrency: 20

If CPU is spiking too high on syncs, reduce further proportionally (e.g.  3 and 12) .
