SAFR Camera Deployment Checklist
This article provides a checklist of items that should be considered when planning an watchlist project with SAFR Camera.
- Planning
- Select camera forma factor (dome or bullet). Bullet is recommended for outdoor.
- Use SAFR Recognition Quality Calculator to evaluate camera placement and model
- Inputs: camera mounting height and distance dictated by site
- Output: Camera model (iterative process - determine which camera model yields good recognition quality given site limitations
-
- Determine requirement for mounts based on physical constraints
- SAFR Camera includes mounting plate for flat surfaces. Poll, corner, call and other mounting hardware are available.
- Determine requirement for mounts based on physical constraints
- Cameras
- Mounting
- Locations identified during planning
- If outdoor, ensure proper waterproofing - See SAFR Camera Installation Guides
- POE Ethernet (or DC power if no POE switch)
- Mounting
- Software
- SAFR Server will need PC with at least 6 cores and 32 GB RAM for up to 20 cameras.
- If >20 cameras, consult SAFR Support or your SAFR Account Manager
- Does customer have VMS?
- Consider Network connection from SAFR Server to VMS Software
- Software will connect VMS system to events/bookmarks integration. Check the relevant integration guide for your VMS at VMS Integration Guides
- Check that the SAFR and VMS software versions support
- SAFR Server will need PC with at least 6 cores and 32 GB RAM for up to 20 cameras.
