How to avoid false matches in access control deployments?

Here are some recommendations to avoid false matches in an access control deployment:

  1. Do not use images that have shadowed eye sockets
  2. Do not use images with blue or other reflections over the eyes
  3. Eliminate long-distance recognition by setting recognizer.minimum-face-size to 150 (and up to 200) either in Advanced feed properties for devices at locations where the issue occurs (likely back-lit environments where faces are dark and noisy and void of details like below) or at tenant level for all devices.
  4. Increase the brightness of images at devices where faces are dark and thus lack details by setting the max shutter speed to 1/30 or 1/50 as appropriate.
  5. Increase Wait time required to grant access to 1 second to give the device more time to evaluate face
