How accurate is SAFR’s face recognition for subjects with masks?

Does SAFR support mask detection?    SAFR enables robust support for detecting individuals wearing a mask and if the mask is worn correctly.  SAFR reports the presence of a mask, and can report if a mask is worn correctly at as low as 80 pixels and with faces at profile (90°) angle. 

How accurate is SAFR’s face recognition for subjects with masks?     SAFR can perform face recognition on masked faces is 98.9%@ 0.04% FPR. Optimal performance is 96.16% TPR at 0.0047% FPR. 

Does SAFR do mask reporting ?

SAFR reports the number and percent of people with a mask, no mask or unknown.  Information can be presented in a dashboard or exported as raw data for further analysis. 

Mask detection can be enabled in SAFR Recognition Preferences.  You can confirm SAFR is correctly detecting masks using the Recognition Details panel.  Below shows SAFR detecting a face with a mask.  The mask emoji is shown above the face in the main video window.  SAFR also reports the probability that a mask is present.  Mask proability is reported as “M” (value of 0.8 below) as shown in the Recognition Details panel in lower left.
